As a freshman at Calvin College from Ghana, Dr Jelks advised me on the classes to take and introduced other faculty to me. Dr Jelks as I have known him in the last 10 years cares deeply about his students and offers his help whenever possible. His focus and discipline are to be emulated as is his concern for the social fabric of the immediate and larger community he may find himself in. He is truly an asset to all who know him.
